Damp Proofing we Provide

Having quality & experience that matters

A damp proof injection is a remedial treatment used to stop rising damp in masonry walls by creating a new damp-proof course (DPC).

Damp proof injection involves drilling a series of evenly spaced holes to 150mm into the mortar bed of a wall and injecting a specially formulated damp-proof cream or fluid. The injected silicone formula penetrates the masonry and cures to form a water-repellent barrier, preventing moisture from rising through the wall by way of capillary action. If any salt-contaminated plaster is present it is then removed and replaced with a lime plaster or render to complete the treatment process and to ensure damp is cured.

  • Solid brick or stone walls.
  • Rendered external walls.
  • Properties suffering from penetrating damp caused by driving rain.
  • Heritage and traditional buildings where vapour permeability is essential.
  • Buildings exposed to severe weather conditions.

Benefit of Service :

Limitations

Breathable waterproof coatings are effective for reducing penetrating damp caused by rainwater but do not resolve rising damp, condensation, plumbing leaks, or structural defects. They should only be applied after any necessary repairs to the building fabric have been completed, as sealing over damaged masonry can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

When correctly specified and applied, breathable waterproof wall coatings provide long-term protection against rain penetration while preserving the natural moisture movement of the building, making them a suitable solution for both modern and traditional masonry construction.

Why Choose Us?

Expert Damp Proofing Services

We take the time to identify where moisture is coming from before recommending any treatment. This allows us to address the underlying cause of the problem and provide a solution suited to your property.

We provide treatments for rising damp, mould, excess moisture and other common damp problems affecting domestic and commercial properties.

Tailored Treatments

From wall tanking and plaster restoration to ventilation systems and breathable coatings, we recommend the most suitable approach for the issue identified.

Free Assessments

We offer free assessments and surveys to investigate the problem, explain the available options and advise on the appropriate next steps.

What We Offer

Damp Proofing for Domestic & Commercial Properties

We provide damp proofing solutions for homes, rental properties and commercial buildings, dealing with problems such as rising damp, mould, excess moisture and water penetration. Every job begins with an assessment to help identify the cause before any treatment is recommended.

Depending on the issue, we can provide rising damp treatment, wall tanking, plaster restoration, mould control, ventilation systems and breathable external wall coatings. Our aim is to treat the source of the problem and help protect the property from further moisture related damage.

An air purifying unit is a mechanical device designed to improve indoor air quality by removing airborne pollutants such as dust, pollen, mould spores, bacteria, pet dander, smoke, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other fine particles from the air within a property.

Air purifiers are commonly used in homes to create a cleaner, healthier indoor environment and can be particularly beneficial where damp, mould, or poor ventilation are present. An air purifying unit operates by drawing air through one or more filtration stages using an internal fan. Which captures fine airborne particles, different models also include activated carbon filters to reduce odours and gaseous pollutants.

The cleaned air is then recirculated back into the room, helping to reduce contaminants and improve overall indoor air quality.

Plaster restoration due to damp is the process of repairing or replacing damaged internal plaster after the source of damp has been identified and treated. Damp can cause plaster to become stained, blistered, cracked, soft, or contaminated with hygroscopic salts, making restoration necessary to reinstate the wall’s appearance and performance.

Plaster restoration involves removing all loose, damaged, or salt-contaminated plaster back to a sound substrate. Following the successful treatment of the underlying damp issue (such as rising damp, penetrating damp, or leaks, before being replastered using a suitable salt-resistant or breathable materials may be specified where required to minimise the risk of future deterioration.

We must then apply a lime-based plaster or render as a base coat to the areas of concern, then allow lime plaster to dry for up to 24 hours and skim flush finish. Once fully dry, the wall can be decorated where appropriate.

Wall tanking is a waterproofing treatment used to prevent moisture from penetrating through walls, particularly in solid wall or stone buildings, basements, cellars, retaining walls, and other below-ground structures where water pressure from the surrounding ground can ingress moisture into the building.Wall tanking involves preparing the wall surface by removing existing plaster, paint, and loose materials to expose the masonry. A waterproof cementitious slurry, bitumen-based coating, or a drilled membrane system is then applied to form a continuous, impermeable barrier that prevents water from passing through the wall. The waterproof layer is extended across wall and floor junctions to ensure a complete seal. Once cured, the wall is finished with a suitable plaster boarding  and plaster skim finish.

Unlike damp-proof injection, which prevents rising damp by creating a horizontal damp-proof course, wall tanking forms a continuous waterproof barrier over the wall surface to resist moisture ingress from the surrounding ground or external water pressure and external elements. The appropriate solution depends on the source of the damp, so identifying the cause of moisture ingress is essential before selecting a treatment.
